Buffalo Chip Saloon

On Friday, Saturday, or  Sunday night (and Thursday during the winter) you'll find me performing in the Wagon Camp at the Buffalo Chip Saloon in Cave Creek. The Buffalo Chip Saloon is an Arizona original. It all started in 1951 as a feed and bait shop on the way to Bartlett and Horseshoe Lakes.  The original building was only 800 square feet on under one acre of land. Today, the place sprawls over five acres with over 6,000 square feet and has become one of the most authentic Western dance halls and saloons in the country. The New Times voted the Chip "Best of Phoenix" for three years. True West named it "Best Saloon" for two consecutive years and Phoenix Magazine voted it "best of the Valley" for two years. Many celebrities have enjoyed The Chip. Willie Nelson, Tanya Tucker, Waylon Jennings, Leann Ryams are names that stand out in mind.

At the Buffalo Chip you can enjoy live music both inside and outside on weekends. Most of the time you will find me performing at The Chip's new outdoor dining and entertainment area, Wagon Camp, up against Black Mountain. The Wagon Camp has its own bar, picnic tables and is full of "stuff" from the 1800s. It even has a working blacksmith shop (with blacksmith). Directions:

The Buffalo Chip Saloon is right in the middle of the town of Cave Creek. Be sure to follow speed limits.

From I-17: Go north to Carefree Hwy. East to Cave Creek Rd. and north on Cave Creek Rd. into town. Go past the stop sign and just past the bend, we are on the right.

From Scottsdale Rd.: Go north past Carefree Hwy. It turns into Tom Darlington Rd. Continue North on Tom Darlington Rd.to Cave Creek Rd. Turn left on Cave Creek Rd. and go down the hill just a bit and we are on the left.

From 101 north: Go north on 101 until it goes west. Take west exit to Cave Creek Rd. Take Cave Creek Rd.north past Carefree Hwy into town of Cave Creek. Go past stop sign heading east. We are on the right.

From the 51: Take 51 north to 101. Take 101 west to Cave Creek Rd. Take Cave Creek Rd. into town of Cave Creek. Go past the stop sign and just past the bend, we are on the right.

From I-10: Take I-10 to the 51 north. Take 51 north to 101. Take 101 west to Cave Creek Rd. Take Cave Creek Rd. into town of Cave Creek. Go past the stop sign and just past the bend, we are on the right.
